Bio - Kathy S..
Hi! My name is Kathy S. , close friends
and family often refer to me as just
"Kat". Part of this may be due to the
fact that my first word as a child was
"MEOW" or maybe it had something to do
with my obsession for collecting
anything to do with cats over the
years!
I grew up in the Omaha area with a
family of animal lovers where we always
had a cat or two, dogs, fish, gerbils,
you name it! On the weekends during the
school year and sometimes for weeks at a
time during the summer I always looked
forward to visiting my grandparents and
my country cousins to experience life on
the farm. There I thoroughly enjoyed
spending time with the animals that we
couldn't keep in the city such as sheep,
goats, pigs, cows, chickens, and
horses. At a young age I was always
determined to tame every wild farm cat I
could get my hands on.
Back in the early 80's as I was
finishing up my last couple years of
high school my parents bought an acreage
in the rural Louisville/Plattsmouth area
and we settled in close to all our
country relatives. I was in heaven!
After graduating from Plattsmouth high
school in 1983 I attended Wayne State
College where I earned a degree in
Sociology and Psychology. I met my
husband Ron there and we got married the
year before we graduated from WSC. We
have 3 children- Brandon and Kaleigh who
are both in their 20's and Mara- our
teenage daughter who still lives at home
with us. We also have two beautiful
granddaughters (who are cat lovers like
their Grandma!) Recently my parents
retired and moved back into town so my
family who had been residing in the
Papillion area for 13 years moved out to
the farm in Louisville.
Our animal family has now expanded to
include 15 cats, 3 dogs, 3 rabbits, and
two rats. It isn't unusual for us to see
foxes, wild turkeys, deer and raccoons
hanging out on our acreage on any given
day as well. We hope to add some
traditional farm animals in the future.
As you can see I have had a lot of
experience caring for all types of
animals throughout my life and look
forward to the opportunity to help you
take care of yours!
